The Field Operations Supervisor – Environmental Services is a permanent full-time position located in Carlsbad, NM, reporting to the Environment Services Project Manager. The Field Operations Supervisor – Environmental Services will accomplish the following, including but not limited to:

The Field Operations Supervisor – Environmental Services is a permanent full-time position located in Carlsbad, NM, reporting to the Environment Services Project Manager. The Field Operations Supervisor – Environmental Services will accomplish the following, including but not limited to:
- Supervise Field Staff in the Environmental Services Division
- Oversee field-related operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, deployment, and project coverage
- Conduct QA/QC of field data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate with the Fleet and Maintenance Manager to ensure vehicles, UTVs, and equipment are properly maintained, available, and assigned
- Collaborate with the Environmental Services Manager to prioritize projects, align staffing with organizational objectives, and allocate field resources
- Provide leadership, training, and professional development for field staff
- Ensure field personnel are in compliance with all relevant safety regulations, policies, and best practices, including completing and reviewing daily Job Safety Analyses
- Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures, processes, and policies to improve efficiency and data quality
- Serve as a primary point of contact for resolving field-level issues, troubleshooting challenges, and communicating updates to the Environmental Services Manager
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, schedules, and staff assignments
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of experience in operations, scheduling, workforce coordination, or staff supervision
- Demonstrated ability to manage people, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with common office software (Word, Excel) and ability to learn project management tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred
- Five or more years of experience managing teams, operations, or project schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Experience with QA/QC processes for data or documentation
- Experience working with fleets, equipment scheduling, or logistics
- Familiarity with environmental or natural resource projects
- Demonstrated ability to develop or improve operational procedures and best practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide field staff
- Ability to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and resources simultaneously
- Proficiency in organizing and coordinating operational activities, including fieldwork and equipment use
- Ability to conduct QA/QC reviews of field data and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to promote a culture of safety
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in dynamic field environments
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, managers, and external partners
Preferred
- Experience with fleet coordination, vehicle/equipment scheduling, or logistics
- Familiarity with basic environmental or natural resource survey requirements
- Experience developing or improving operational procedures, checklists, or SOPs
- Ability to train and mentor field staff in best practices and efficient work methods
- Ability to identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement solutions
