Pay Range is dependent on whether an applicant elects health benefits. If a hired employee does not elect benefits, extra compensation will be added to the hourly pay.
Position: Construction Line Technician

Responsibilities: As a Construction Line Technician, you will play a vital role in installing and maintaining our fiber optic internet infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

Placing and maintaining cable within underground conduit/manhole systems

Using plowing, digging, and trenching equipment to install direct buried cable

Installing and removing aerial cable, including messenger strands and equipment transfer

Setting poles using specialized equipment

Installing central office feeder and distribution cable

Following industry standards and practices, including familiarity with RUS guidelines

Performing routine plant maintenance and replacement tasks

Splicing cable, both copper and fiber optic, and interpreting blueprints

Operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, and front-end loaders

Adhering to OSHA rules and regulations
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, it is preferred that you meet the following requirements, but is not required:
- 1-2 years of job-related experience in the construction field
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Telecommunications experience
- Valid driver's license-REQUIRED
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations
Physical Demands/Work Environment: At Leaco, we value your well-being and safety. Here are some aspects of the job you should consider:
- Working in all types of weather during the day and sparingly at night
- On-call availability may be required
- Work around electrical lines and equipment with a risk of electrical shock
- Occasional work activities around gas lines and heights
- Normal work week: 40 hours, with occasional overtime as required
- Heavy physical workload, including climbing, lifting up to 100 pounds, and stooping
